Welcome to Crail Bowling Club
Crail is situated in the East Neuk of Fife, a few miles South East of St Andrews.
The Bowling Club, has approximately 120 Members, who fall into one of three categories Full Members, Junior Members and House Members.
House (or Social) Members may use the facilities of the Club but are not permitted to bowl.
During the bowling season, which runs from April until September, the Club takes part in a number of external competitions organised by both Bowls Scotland and Fife Bowling Association. The Club also competes in the East Fife Bowling League and various competitions organised by Local Clubs.
Besides the above, we also run a number of internal competitions for both Ladies and Gents (and mixed), with members striving to be their respective Club Champions.
A number of social functions take place throughout the year, including our annual Presentation of Prizes, quiz nights, barbeques and a Burn's Supper. In the winter months there are carpet bowls, and every Saturday night there is BINGO!!!
One of the highlights of the Bowling season is the Glasgow Fair Fortnight, when we are literally taken over by our friends from the West. The green is handed over to the visitors, who organise many events and bowling matches. Club members are welcome to take part in these events.
At a social night at the end of the fortnight, the green is returned to the Club.
The Club always welcomes visitors and new members, so If you are a non-bowler and fancy trying the sport, or have already played, and have moved into the area, come along and give it a go! You will be made very welcome.
Bowling is NOT an old person's game. It is a young person's game, which old people can play!
